Dear Visitor ji,
It is that time of the year again when we get exposed to taste the world’s unique and diverse cultures that are integral part of Canberra’s multicultural mosaic. This year, the National Multicultural Festival marks its 20th anniversary, it is probably the biggest multicultural event in the country – drawing more than a quarter of million people together each time.
With 22 major languages, written in 13 different scripts, with over 720 dialects and with hundreds of different Landscapes and Landforms, India and Indians are no strangers to the concept of multiculturalism. A number of FINACT’s member associations will be portraying diverse Indian cultures while FINACT as always will be showcasing the ‘Unity in diversity’ through its stall titled ‘Best of India’ at Stall number E-13 on Sunday 14 February.
Everyone is invited to come to 'Share our similarities, celebrate our differences.'
Amardeep Singh
President, FINACT

Get set for a kaleidoscope of fun in Canberra City
A kaleidoscope of colours, sounds, sights, flavours and fun is set to transform Canberra when the 2016 National Multicultural Festival unfolds in the city centre from February 12 to 14.
Planning has now begun for the iconic event which unites the community in a celebration and sharing of culturally diverse traditions, dance, food, performances, exhibitions, concerts and information.
Of course, the festival will feature all the key events and performances it’s renowned for, including: India in the City, the Food and Dance Spectacular, Greek Glendi, Carnival in the City, Chinese New Year and Pacific Island Showcase.
During the 2015 festival more than 270,000 people flocked to the heart of the city to revel in Canberra’s love affair with its cultural diversity.
We embrace the fact that our city is one that is built on a firm foundation of multiculturalism.
In fact, it’s what defines us.

Cricket ACT Mosaic Program - Proudly Supported by FINACT

Welcome to the 2016 Mosaic Cup!
The success of the Mini World Cup last year, on the back of the ICC Cricket World Cup has allowed Cricket ACT, in partnership with FINACT, to put together a tournament once again that celebrates the diverse multicultural society we have here in Canberra.
The Mosaic Program is aimed at increasing opportunities for Indigenous and multicultural groups to participate in cricket programs with a view to keeping participants involved in cricket beyond the Mosaic Cup.
The integration of these groups into the cricket playing community is a crucial part of making cricket the number one sport of choice in the ACT, and it would not be possible without the FINACT community.
This tournament is a key component of the Cricket Australia and Cricket ACT strategies to increase both male and female multicultural participation, whilst helping to promote healthy lifestyle options for all communities.
Cricket ACT and Cricket Australia's vision to become Australia's favourite sport would not be possible without the involvement of all multicultural communities, and we hope to continue to go from strength to strength in the future.
Thank you very much for being part of the Mosaic Cup (Information Booklet attached).
Enjoy the Tournament!
