Dear Visitor ji,

FINACT’s annual report was submitted at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 21 July 2017 and is available at www.finact.net.au .
The FINACT has made significant initiatives and executed several projects in the last one year. My deep gratitude to the team for advancing the organisation and diaspora. The team has delivered AusIndia Fair, the biggest community sporting event - T-20 Cricket tournament, parliamentary submissions and contributing a collective representation to many policy issues.
Serving for Empowerment is my passion and FINACT Members elected me to lead the organisation for another year. FINACT General Council has elected its new board of executives at the AGM. The new team is highly enthusiastic and fully committed to serve the community. We are keen to take new initiatives and engage with the stakeholders to shape the FINACT in accordance with stakeholder and community aspirations. We have commitment to continue the FINACT legacy, and initiate and achieve new milestones.
Thanks to the team of last year for an amazing journey of serving with all positive. Now we have a fantastic team for the next year to continue the good work and empower the vulnerable communities and advance the diaspora in Australia.
Currently FINACT is busy in responding to the Australian Parliament Legal and Constitutional Affairs References Committee to review “The practice of dowry and the incidence of dowry abuse in Australia”. WE are organising a public consultation forum to collect the perspectives of diverse communities, individuals and professionals.
FINACT T-20 Cricket Tournament will be starting very soon and the draws for the tournament will be taken on 15th August at the Indian Independence.

Like in the past India Australia Association of Canberra is all set to celebrate another memorable day of Indian History i.e 15th August, the day of Indian Independence. But this year we plan to celebrate this day differently than the routine celebration.
Yes we have enjoyed the Indian independence for more than 71 years and have seen disturbance in some part or other of this world. The need of the hour is peace so that we can enjoy what we have achieved during these 71 years. Lets us define the independence in a different way by making the world free from barrier of race, rich and poor, region and religion. Let us concentrate on what our mother land ( Earth) wants from us by respecting each other and respect love for humanity and nature above all.
If we look around us we will see the world is full of tension whether for political diplomacy or to prove that we are the best in the world for the economic growth. This race has resulted into hatred for each other on international level. While we plan to celebrate independence of India sitting here in Australia, let us get together and celebrate this day for peace and harmony around the world.
Respected Krishna Jee , I know you have expended a great deal of personal effort in serving various Communities in Canberra . To thank you adequately is impossible. You spent long after-business hours on various projects, sacrificing your personal time for the greater good of our citizenry and service to community through your association working for harmony and peace in the world, especially in Australia, since last many years. India Australia Association of Canberra has decided to accord you this honour on you on this memorable day to make it more memorable and we are confident you will accept this honour and oblige us.

Parenting to develop the brain of your child consciously and optimally
A new topic, following on from the conscious parenting session on 30 June 2018, organised by Integrated Cultures ACT Inc., Integrated Women’s Network and Radio Harmony. It is a standalone session and all are welcome to attend including previous participants.
Parents play a vital role in the lives of their children. They give them the foundations of self-identity, self-direction, motivation and purpose. Through parenting practices they develop their child's physical and mental health, emotional resilience, and intellectual capacity. However they are not often aware of the important factors that determine these various aspects of the child's personality as much of parenting is unconscious. This workshop will explore the daily dynamics in the family to identify some tools for optimally developing these key skills and particularly the brain of your child through good parenting practices.
Presenters of international repute: Professor Pal Dhall was a senior surgeon at the Canberra Hospital. Dr Tehseen Dhall worked as a research scholar in the area of medical science. They have been educators in human values and parenting for several decades. They have written more than twenty books on human values. They are Nationally Certified Trainers and Assessors. They have given talks, and presented seminars, workshops, conferences both nationally and internationally in many countries.
Date: Saturday 1 September 2018 Topic: Parenting to nurture and develop the brain of your child consciously and optimally Time: 3-5 pm (registration from 2.45pm) Where: Gadal Chambers (level 1), Woden (it is diagonally opposite Westfield Woden Plaza, entrance is close to the roundabout) Cost: Free (light refreshments will be served)

Sponsorship Appreciated for FINACT Events
We understand that one of the main reasons to sponsor a tournament and any event could be to promote one’s business and generate goodwill in the community. Sponsoring the FINACT events will give you brand recognition among the fastest-growing community group of Indians in the ACT and increase sales or traffic to sponsor’s website through their banner on our website (www.finact.net.au ).
Indians are the fastest growing population in Australia. This has resulted in increased air traffic between India and Australia; increased telecommunication; and enhanced trade and cultural ties. Players and their supporters make playing cricket a fiercely competitive and memorable event. They will promote the game and use your services to show their appreciation.
In addition to providing an excellent opportunity to connect with the Indian sub-continent communities, the FINACT events' sponsorship will:
- enable them to reach out to wider community groups in ACT and surrounds
- fulfil their business objectives and attract sizeable potential customers
- provide a lasting impression of their business
- promote sports and physical activities in the community
- motivate and assist young players participating in the tournament and community activities
- attract favourable feedback from organisers and media partners
- generate great feel-good stories in Indian community and back to India and neighbouring countries and
- fulfil sponsor’s corporate and social responsibilities
If you are willing to or interested in sponsoring our events, please contact us soon.
