Message from the ACT Chief Minister
to the Indian Community
on the Occasion of the
67th Indian Independence Day
It is with great pleasure that I extend congratulations to the Indian community on the 67th anniversary of independence.
The Indian community in Canberra is strong and vibrant, contributing significantly to business, tourism, education and the sporting, artistic and cultural life of the nation’s capital.
Canberrans look forward to the National Multicultural Festival each year and the Indian community’s contribution to the festival is greatly enjoyed and appreciated.
This important occasion is also an excellent opportunity to acknowledge the work of the Federation of Indian Associations of the ACT (FINACT} for uniting the community in the ACT region.
I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Indian Independence Day- may each of you enjoy this important day surrounded by family and friends.
