It is my great pleasure to offer my best wishes to the Federation of Indian Associations of the ACT (FINACT) and the wider Indian community on the occasion of the 67th Indian Independence Day.
FINACT has played an important role in promoting Indian culture throughout Canberra. Associations such as FINACT strengthen the bond between our two countries, and by sharing your culture with our community you help make Canberra an even more vibrant and dynamic city.
Cultural associations fulfill an important and valuable role in our communities and this celebration will be a time to reflect on the commitment and dedication of each individual that has devoted time and energy in any capacity over the years.
Again I send my best wishes to you all on this occasion. Although I am not able to attend the function on the 17th of August I have no doubt it will be a great event and I hope to catch up with you all in the near future.
