This is to inform you all that the 1st Annual General Meeting of Federation of Indian Associations of ACT (FINACT) was held on 30th June 2012 at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture centre at Yarralumla. It’s with a great a pleasure to state that since its inception in February 2011, FINACT played a key role as the peak body of Indian community in ACT organising various cultural and sports functions in a mega scale that brought together various Indian communities across the Territory.

The Inaugural FINACT T-20 Cricket tournament has started with great fervour on Feb 5th at the Nicholls Oval. The opening ceremony was enriched with the presence of Deputy. This is to inform you all that the Sub Committee for the Cricket Tournament formed at the last General Council meeting had its first meeting. The Tournament is named as FINACT T-20 Rolling Trophy Cricket Tournament and will be held annually. The Sub Committee decided to conduct the inaugural tournament in a grand fashion. The theme of the tournament is One community- One team where teams will be formed under the banner of their respective States. We are extremely glad to inform you that the tournament will be sponsored by ‘Colliers International’. Former NewZealnd cricket great Mr. Chris Cairns who works for Colliers Group also attended the Sub Committee meeting representing the Sponsor company.
