Greetings from the new Executive Team of FINACT

Namaste

As the President of FINACT for the term 2012- 2013, it gives me great pleasure to introduce the Executive team to all of you.

As you know, I was the Vice President of FINACT for the term 2011 – 2012 and prior to that I was the Co-Chair of the Interim Committee.  I represent Integrated Cultures ACT Inc, which also has the Integrated Women’s Network under its banner.  This Network was officially launched a few months ago by the ACT Minister for Women Joy Burch MLA.

I am keen to work with all member organisations and their delegates in an inclusive, cooperative and collaborative manner.

Amish Chaturvedi, FINACT’s Vice President is also known to all of you as he was the Secretary of FINACT for the term 2011 –2012.  He represents the Bihar Jharkhand Sabha of Australia and New Zealand.  He brings excellent negotiation skills along with enthusiasm and new ideas to the team.

I am happy that Chander Dhawan has agreed to retain his portfolio as Treasurer of FINACT for this year.  He represents the Canberra Multicultural Artists Association Inc.  He brings his professional experience in accounting along with a commitment to bringing all members together under this peak body.

I am proud to introduce Chakradhar Ravinuthala, as the new Secretary of FINACT.  He is the current President of the Telugu Association of Canberra.  You may have watched him in action at the FINACT cricket matches.  Chakradhar brings his management and IT skills along with qualities of a true sportsperson.

We are also happy to have on board Dr Pal Muthiah, who in addition to retaining his position as Coordinator of Community Services, has taken over the responsibilities of Public Officer.  Dr Muthiah, delegate of the Australian Tamil Society of ACT, is a veteran in managing associations and we are fortunate to have his wealth of experience to guide us.

The Executive Committee looks forward to working with all of you and would be available to support the activities of member organisations.  We thank those who were able to attend the AGM on 30 June 2012, the Returning Officer Darryl Alexander, the outgoing President Jacob Vadakkedathu and FINACT website host Sanjay Pandey.

FINACT Executive Committee also welcomes Akash Saikia of the Assamese community as a delegate to FINACT General Council.

We would like to meet all the other members at the earliest opportunity and would be happy to receive your suggestions about moving forward.  Here are now a few reminders.

  • Those who have not yet paid the 2011-12 and 2012-13 membership fees, please do so at the earliest.   Chander Dhawan can be contacted on this email – [email protected]
