Dear FINACT GC members,
Good afternoon. More than a year ago, you elected the first ever Committee representing the various Indian community in Canberra and formed the Federation of Indian Associations of ACT (FINACT), marking a new phase in the history of the Indian community in ACT and to be the voice of India in ACT.
We found great pleasure in serving the community over the past one year and four months and are proud of the many accomplishments achieved during this period. Being the first committee representing a huge community has had its challenges which proved to be a good learning curve for us.
Now that the current committee’s tenure has almost come to an end, it’s time for us as the outgoing committee to pass on the baton to the incoming committee to run the Federation. To help select a dynamic and enthusiastic group to form the new FINACT Executive committee, we invite you all to attend the Annual General Body Meeting on 30 June 2012 at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Cultural Centre, 245 Lady Denman Dr, Yarralumla from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Please note that the AGM will start at 3:00pm sharp.
We also request that those who haven’t paid their membership fee for (2011-12) yet, please print out and fill in the attached registration form appropriately before coming to the AGM and to all those current members, please fill in the attached membership renewal forms for the year 2012-13.
The agenda for the AGM will be as follows:
- Welcome and Introduction by the President
- Minutes of previous AGM held on 20 February 2011
- Presentation of Annual Report by the President
- Presentation of accounts by the Treasurer
- Address by the Returning Officer
- Election of Executive Committee/Office Bearers
- Other matters with the permission of the chair
- Vote of Thanks
- Closing the meeting
