We are pleased to inform you that FINACT had put forward a Sumission to the Joint Standing Committee on Multiculturalism (JSCM) on ‘Inquiry into Multiculturalism in Australia’.

Needless to say that it is highly imperative to be engaged with these sort of vital issues and to make use of these avenues in raising our view points to the authorities concerned. We believe that we have provided some very constructive comments and had made some valuable observations on this subject through our submission.
Now, may I also like to apprise you on the progress of the FINACT Constitution and would like to inform you that, it is currently being subjected to review by legal expert to ensure that our Constitition is in accordance with and abide by the Association Incorporation Act 1991. Though it is a time taking process, we believe this process is quite important and we do hope that it will be completed soon and FINACT could be Incorporated by next week.
We would also like to let you know that the Executive Committee had made some important decisions in relation to Joining fee, Annual membership fee and the draft Forward Work Plan for the coming year. Details to this regard will be announced soon after the Incorporation is done.
Fnally, we are also glad to inform you that the following two vacant positions in the Executive Committee has been filled.
Co-ordinator of Social and Cultural Programmes- Mr. Gopal Krishnan
Senior Citizen Representative- Mr. Subash Jalota
Congratulations and many thanks to Mr. Gopal Krishnan and Mr. Subash Jalota in taking up the position and being part of the Executive Committee.
Regarding the Student Representative position, discussions are already underway with the office bearers of the ‘EKTA – Indian Subcontinent Students’ Association’ and is expected to hear an official response from them soon.
