Federation of Indian Associations of ACT (FINACT) organises T-20 Cricket Tournament every year in Canberra. FINACT is organising the event for fourth consecutive season. ACT Sports and Cricket ACT are strongly supporting the event. There were 12 teams represented by various Indian communities participating. We also included staff from High Commission of India who participated in the tournament to promote their interaction with local communities. This has become a very popular event in the youth and sports lovers in ACT.
The final match is being played on Sunday, 16th November 2014 and an award ceremony will follow. Being Australia is the host nation for ICC Cricket World Cup this year, we are bringing the World Cup countdown clock to the final match.
FINACT is leading to organise ACT Multicultural (Mini) Cricket World Cup Tournament in partnering with ACT Sports, Cricket ACT and ICC World Cup (Community Engagement). The tournament will be organised in Feb-March 2015 while the ICC World Cup is being played in the nation. There are 8 nations including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, ACT Aboriginal Team, Bangladesh and Afghanistan likely to take part. This tournament will be announced at the FINACT Tournament Awards Ceremony.
