As advised earlier (through our newsletter), FINACT is organising a competition to mark the Indian Independence Day 2017 celebrations.

Essay Competition:
Topic: India since Independence

Submit: Full Name, Age, School / College Name and Your Essay
Closing date: Thursday 27 July 2017 by 5pm
Prize: One Tablet for the winner in each category
Creative essays are invited electronically in .docx or .doc format. Three independent judges will evaluate the submissions and their decision will be final and binding. The submissions will be judged in two different categories as mentioned below:
Group A (less than 21 yrs) – no more than 3000 words and no less than 1500 words
Group B (less than 15 yrs) – no more than 1500 words and no less than 1000 words
The word limit should be observed, the submissions outside word limits (with 10% over or under acceptable)
Please ensure the work is original as plagiarised entries will be disqualified, quotes will be exempted from plagiarism check.
The High Commissioner of India at the Independence Day celebration at Indian High Commission premises on 15 August 2017 will award the winners in both the categories.
Terms and Conditions
Participants retain ownership of materials submitted to the Competition. However, by submitting any essay to the Competition, Participants hereby grant to FINACT and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees and assigns, an irrevocable, perpetual and royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted essay in any and all media. Whether now known or hereinafter created, throughout the world and for any purpose.
In addition, by submitting any essay or other content to the Competition, participants hereby represent and warrant that the submitted materials do not and shall not infringe on any copyright or other right of any third party.
Participant has the right to grant any and all rights and licenses granted to FINACT herein, including but not limited to all necessary rights under copyright, free and clear of any claims or encumbrances.
Release
Acceptance of a prize constitutes the Winner’s permission for FINACT to use prize winner’s name and likeness for advertising and/or promotional purposes worldwide and in all forms of media in perpetuity without further compensation or authorization.
Participants agree that FINACT and its affiliates, and their officers, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Sponsoring Entities”), shall not be responsible for any losses, damages or injuries of any kind resulting from participation in the Competition or from Participants’ acceptance, receipt, possession and/or use or misuse of any prize.
Participants also agree that the Sponsoring Entities have not made and shall not in any manner be liable for any warranty, guarantee, or representation, whether express or implied, with respect to any prize, including without limitation, the prize’s quality or fitness for a particular purpose.
FINACT reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who is found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition, to be acting in violation of these Official Rules, or who otherwise takes actions that do or are intended to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition.
FINACT also reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry containing any obscene, offensive or otherwise inappropriate comments or other matter.
Further, FINACT assumes no liability, and shall not be liable, for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of the Competition including, without limitation, errors in the printing or display of the offer and official rules, selection, notification and announcement of winners.
There will be another competition (painting competition) for children under 15 year. This will be on the spot painting competition. Venue and other rule will be communicated soon.
