Australia is a richly multicultural nation which embraces the cultural traditions of our diverse population. Our diversity is a source of social and economic strength, giving vibrancy and dynamism to Australian life.
As the Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Minister for Sport I am a great supporter of championing the power of sport to inspire and promote participation, inclusion and a sense of belonging.

Australians and Indians alike share a love of cricket. For Indian-Australians, the passion is doubled through support of two national teams and local competitions both in Australia and India.
The Indian community in Australia is diverse and reflects the incredible diversity in India. It is therefore quite fitting that cricket is also a means of uniting the Indian community in Canberra.
I congratulate FINACT on hosting your second tournament. We may see future champions in action that will one day play in T-20 leagues around the world.
