ACT Multicultural Awards

FINACT Congratulates winners of the ACT Government Multicultural Awards for 2017.The awards focus on the great work that happens every day in support of multiculturalism, reflecting our community’s respect for cultural diversity.The awards recognise the outstanding contribution made by people and organisations who promotes and strengthen our multicultural community. The winners are

  • Multicultural Person of the Year – Mustafa Ehsan
  • Multicultural Advocate of the Year – Chin Wong and ZiaulHoque
  • Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award –  Dr Krishna Nadimpalli and Diana Rahman OAM
  • Media Award – Victor Hugo Marillanca JP
  • Education Award – The Polish School of Canberra
  • Business Enterprise Award – STAR AM 1323 Canberra
  • Community Organisation Award – Multicultural Employment Services

Dr Krishna Nadimpalli, President of FINACT has won the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award and the citation of the award says

Dr Krishna Nadimpalli is a champion of the values of multiculturalism through his long service as a volunteer to multicultural communities. He has done this by being a good advocate and promoter of community harmony and by establishing and maintaining positive community relations through the development of volunteer networks and coordinating various community programs and international program such as the Art of Living Foundation. His volunteering and dedication is strategic in that he invests his energy, experience and knowledge by motivating and mentoring culturally and linguistically diverse people and those from a broad section of the community in the true spirit of multiculturalism.
