On 15 August we commemorate India’s independence from British rule as well as the memory of those who died fighting for India’s freedom. These men and women fought with true courage and spirit so that India could once again become a sovereign nation. On the 15 August we celebrate that achievement.
Canberra is fortunate to have such a vibrant and engaging Indian community that is so passionate and committed to maintaining and sharing its culture with the wider community.
