Independence Day Message from FINACT Executive Committee

Freedom remains the most precious word in human antiquity, and India’s freedom remains the most unforgettable and renowned event in world history. As we are celebrating India’s 66th Independence Day, first of all we must remember those who sacrificed their lives so that we could live a free nation.

We as Indo-Australians have every reason to be proud of our ethnic heritage and at the same time we must feel gratified to be part of the great Australian mosaic of multiculturalism.

Being a representative of Federation of Indian Associations of ACT, we are enthralled to reiterate that FINACT continues to do a great job in establishing cohesive and complaisant Indian community in ACT since its inception.

India is a union of twenty nine states and seven union territories with 18 major languages and over 1600 dialect. India embraces number of different cultures with the followers spread all around the world.

In Australian Capital territory, FINACT is not only a cluster of different Indian organisations joining hands and making a federation, it is a pictogram of Unity in diversity within ethnic Indian community and wider Australian community. I feel immense pleasure to wish all of my Indian brothers and sisters a happy independence day.
