Global Cricket Day marks sensational victory for FINACT 11

The day was full of astonishing events, it started with the Kids Cricket Clinic organised by Cricket ACT at 10.00 am followed by sausage sizzle. Matthew William made sure for schema of events to run impeccably. The Deputy Chief Minister Andrew Bar and Deputy High Commissioner of India Mr Surinder Datta were present to encourage the kids.

winners2014The kids event was followed by an exhibition game between Aboriginal 11 v/s Multicultural 11. The Multicultural 11 was constituted by player from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and a significant composition from India. The Indian contingent was chosen from recently concluded FINACT T-20 tournament. Multicultural 11 won the match full of excitement on last ball in a nail biting finish.

The Awards for FINACT T-20 tournament were bestowed to the Players and officials at 3.30 pm. The Deputy High Commissioner of India Mr Surinder Datta awarded the FINACT Rolling trophy to the winning team, Delhi Strikers. Timmy the vice-captain of Delhi Strikers received the cup for the team. Ms Nanette Bak from Konica Minolta presented the gold medals to the winning team and silver medals to the runners up team Kerela Fireballs. Ms Nanette also awarded the Player of the Tournament trophy (sponsored by Konica Minolta) to Divish Slal, Man of the Match (Finals) to Ronny Sood, Best Batsman to Amit Sharma and Best Bowler of the tournament to Mallik.

On this occasion, FINACT T20 Cricket Tournament Souvenir was launched by Mr S K Datta, the Deputy High Commissioner of India, Ms Nanette Bak of Konica Minolta and Mrs Jayanti Gupta, former President of FINACT.

globalcricketdayThe evening was marked by an exciting exhibition match between FNACT 11 and AIBC 11. FINACT won the toss and elected to bat first. FINACT 11 was represented by Kerela Fireballs who scored modest 97 in 20 overs. The AIBC chasing the meek total started with confidence but soon surrendered to magnificent bowling attack by FINACT 11. AIBC were 10 for no loss soon to be reduced to 10 for 4 wickets helped by a Hat-trick t take long for AIBC 11 to collapse and all out for 39.

FINACT 11 won the match by 58 runs.
